Boom Beach, Supercell's 2014 strategy game, sends landing craft onto tropical islands to break enemy Headquarters. Raidcrown also starts every raid from the beach, but in a medieval world, and the beach is where a raid ends as well as where it begins.

Landing on the beach, and leaving by it

In Boom Beach the beach is a landing zone. In Raidcrown it is also the finish line. Your troops come ashore from raid boats, break in, destroy the real Crown Vault and then a carrier has to bring the Crown back to the boats while every tower on the island turns on them. Reaching the boats earns the Escape mark and a 50% ransom on top of your loot. Our Crown Heist guide explains each mark.

Support powers: energy versus Valor

Boom Beach's Gunboat fires flares, barrages and other support abilities from a shared energy pool. Raidcrown's equivalent is the Rune: you equip Runes before a raid and charge them with Valor, which your troops earn as they fight. The better the raid goes, the more you can do with your Runes, so momentum matters.

Your hero

Raidcrown has one hero, the Marshal, who leads your army. Once per battle the Marshal plants a Rally Banner: nearby troops gather to it and hit harder for a few seconds, and the Marshal recovers some health. You upgrade the Marshal like any other unit, and everything about the hero can be earned by playing.

Teams

Boom Beach players team up in Task Forces to take on Operations together. In Raidcrown you join a House of up to 40 players to trade reinforcements, finish weekly House Quests and fight Feuds against other Houses: 5 to 40 players a side, with 3 attack tokens each and no boosts allowed.

Fair play

Raidcrown publishes its fairness rules with exact numbers on our fair-play page: no loot boxes, no ads, everything that affects battles earnable by playing, and the Season Pass speed bonus as the only boost (off in Feuds and the Crown League).

Which one should you play?

If you love modern-military island raids and co-op Operations, Boom Beach has years of polish behind it. If you want a medieval island where hiding your Crown and escaping with someone else's is the whole game, Raidcrown is coming soon to Android. Join the newsletter to hear when it launches.
